Strawberry Overnight Oats

November 25, 20245 min read

I’m beyond excited to share my new Strawberry Overnight Oats recipe with you!

Overnight oats are a total game-changer for busy mornings or when you’re craving something refreshing yet satisfying to kickstart your day. They’re the perfect summer alternative to baked oats because there’s no cooking involved. Just a quick prep the night before, and you’ll wake up to a creamy, chilled, and nutrient-packed breakfast that’s ready to grab and go.

Oats are one of my all-time favourite breakfast staples. They’re loaded with slow-releasing carbohydrates to keep your energy levels steady and your blood sugar balanced throughout the day. Plus, they’re packed with fibre and highly versatile, making them the ultimate base for so many healthy creations.

This version is all about strawberries—sweet, juicy, and bursting with antioxidants! I’ve paired them with creamy bananas, protein-rich chia seeds, and a hint of vanilla for a flavour-packed breakfast bowl. Trust me, this will become your summer morning go-to.

WHY OVERNIGHT OATS ARE A SUMMER MUST-HAVE.

No Cooking Required: Perfect for those hot summer days when you don’t want to turn on the oven or stove. Just mix, refrigerate, and you’re done!

Time-Saving: Overnight oats take just 5 minutes to prep the night before, leaving you with one less thing to worry about in the morning.

Nutrient-Dense: Packed with fibre, protein, and healthy carbs, this breakfast keeps you full and fueled all morning.

Customisable: Whether you love strawberries, blueberries, or mango, you can adapt the flavours to suit your cravings and the season.

STRAWBERRY OVERNIGHT OATS RECIPE.

Serves: 2
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Chill Time: 6+ hours (overnight is best)

Strawberry Overnight Oats

1 cup (90g) rolled oats

1 tbsp. chia seeds

1 scoop vanilla protein powder (optional but recommended for added protein)

1 cup (250ml) milk of choice (I used cow's milk, but any milk works)

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 medium banana, mashed

1 cup (150g) fresh strawberries, chopped

1 tbsp. honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)

Toppings (optional):

Sliced fresh strawberries

A dollop of Greek yoghurt or dairy-free yoghurt

A drizzle of almond butter or peanut butter

A sprinkle of granola

HOW TO MAKE STRAWBERRY OVERNIGHT OATS.

Mix the Base: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, and protein powder. Stir to mix evenly.

Add the Wet Ingredients: Pour in the milk, vanilla extract, and mashed banana. Stir well to combine, making sure the oats and chia seeds are fully coated in the liquid.

Add the Strawberries: Gently fold in the chopped strawberries. They’ll add a burst of natural sweetness and flavour to the mix.

Refrigerate: Transfer the mixture to two jars or airtight containers. Cover and refrigerate overnight (or at least 6 hours).

Serve & Enjoy: In the morning, give the oats a quick stir, add your favourite toppings, and enjoy your chilled, creamy breakfast straight from the fridge!

WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS RECIPE.

  1. Quick & Easy: With just a few minutes of prep the night before, your breakfast is ready to grab in the morning. Perfect for busy weekdays!

  2. Healthy & Balanced: This recipe combines whole grains, natural sugars, and protein for a balanced start to your day.

  3. Customisable: Add different fruits, nuts, or seeds to suit your taste and keep it exciting all summer long.

  4. Portable: Pack these oats in a jar for a convenient, on-the-go breakfast.

STRAWBERRY SUPERPOWERS.

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the star ingredient—strawberries! These juicy red gems are:

Strawberry Oats

High in Antioxidants: Strawberries are packed with vitamin C, which helps boost your immune system and fight free radicals.

Great for Hydration: With high water content, strawberries help keep you hydrated during those warm summer mornings.

Low in Calories, High in Flavour: Strawberries are naturally sweet and satisfying without adding unnecessary calories.

HOW TO CUSTOMISE YOUR STRAWBERRY OVERNIGHT OATS.

One of the best things about overnight oats is how versatile they are. Here are a few ways to make this recipe your own:

Swap the Fruit: Not a fan of strawberries? No problem! Try blueberries, diced peaches, or even mango for a tropical twist.

Boost the Protein: Add a dollop of Greek yoghurt, an extra scoop of protein powder, or some crushed nuts for a protein-packed punch.

Add Texture: Sprinkle some granola, like my Cinnamon Granola, chia seeds, or shredded coconut on top for added crunch.

Sweeten It Up: Adjust the sweetness to your liking with a drizzle of honey, maple syrup, or a dash of cinnamon.

TIPS FOR THE PERFECT OVERNIGHT OATS.

Choose the Right Oats: Use rolled oats for the best texture. Quick oats can turn mushy, and steel-cut oats don’t soften as well overnight.

Mash Your Banana Well: A smooth banana mash will distribute sweetness evenly throughout the oats.

Don’t Skip the Chia Seeds: These little powerhouses thicken the oats and add a boost of fibre and omega-3s.

Prep in Jars: Mason jars are perfect for overnight oats. They’re portable, easy to store, and add a touch of holidays to your mornings!

WHY STRAWBERRY OVERNIGHT OATS ARE A SUMMER MUST-TRY.

  • Beat the Heat: No cooking means you’re not adding unnecessary heat to your kitchen.

  • Stay Energised: Packed with fibre and protein, this breakfast keeps you fueled for hours.

  • Meal Prep-Friendly: Make multiple jars at once and have breakfast sorted for the week.

  • Family-Approved: Kids and adults alike will love the creamy texture and sweet strawberry flavour.

MAKE IT A BALANCED MEAL.

While these overnight oats are delicious on their own, you can pair them with a side of scrambled eggs or a handful of nuts for an extra dose of protein and healthy fats.

WHY I LOVE STRAWBERRY OVERNIGHT OATS.

As someone who’s always juggling a busy schedule, I can’t tell you how much I rely on simple, no-fuss breakfasts like this one. It’s refreshing, satisfying, and endlessly customisable. Plus, knowing I have a healthy, ready-to-go breakfast waiting in the fridge each morning is a total game-changer!

FINAL THOUGHTS.

If you’re looking for a refreshing, no-cook breakfast that’s perfect for summer mornings, these Strawberry Overnight Oats are calling your name! They’re quick, healthy, and oh-so-delicious—everything you need to start your day on the right note.
